The time has come for your little princess to celebrate her birthday and she has decided that this is the year for her royal ball; an enchanting afternoon to celebrate with all of her friends. Now what? Relax, take a deep breath and follow our guide to decorate for the Perfect Princess Party.

Whether you a month or even just a week to plan, we will make this birthday the easiest and best.

First you need to decide what is doable and what you can do without. If you have a budget, stick to the basics. You do not need to spend a lot of money to have a magical day.

Of course decorations are a must! If you are on a budget, the dollar store is your friend. You are certain to find streamers, table covers and balloons there. Here you can save some money by purchasing basic colors instead of Princess themed streamers and balloons. Buy a mix of pink, purple, white or yellow. These are the basic colors for princesses.

First, start by making a thrown for the princess. If she is younger in age, a child’s chair will work great. My daughter had a Cinderella plush chair that made a great thrown. If you do not have something similar, take a basic chair and cover with tulle fabric. If it is an adult chair, try adding a step stool in front, to make it easier for her to get on and off. Place chair against a blank wall if possible

Using more tulle, curtains or streamers, decorate the wall directly behind the thrown. Arrange on the wall as you would arrange drapes on a window. Instead of the window being the focal point, the thrown will be instead.

What thrown would be complete with a carpet that leads up to it? I used large red construction paper and taped it together to make a red walk way carpet. I already had it on hand and it added so much flair to the thrown area. The girls loved walking on the “red carpet”.

Entering the princess party can be just as exciting as the inside, with doorway decoration. If you are crafty and have patience try this project. Start by deciding which doorway you would like to decorate. It can be the doorframe to the house or to the thrown area. Measure the width of the doorframe, so that you know how wide to make your castle entrance. Using cardboard or heavy paper cut the top half and shape to represent a castle making castle towers. Leave the bottom half straight so that it aligns parallel to the floor. Try to make it a good height, so that the adults won’t bump their heads coming it and out. After decorating with construction paper or paint, hang from the top of the doorway. If you have the time or would like to make it more elaborate, you can also add the sides of the castle and a lowered drawbridge. These decorations can be made in advance and setup the night before.

If adding a castle entrance is too much work, try adding streamers and balloons instead.

Decorating the tables and chairs can be just as easy or elaborate depending on your budget, space and time. If you want to have a table just for the princess and her court, design her table with a Princess themed, pink or purple table cover and all other tables should have white table covers. Centerpieces can be a single red rose in a vase to honor Belle of Beauty and the Beast or glass slippers if Cinderella is her favorite. You can find faux roses and vases in inexpensive party stores or in dollar discount stores, whereas glass slippers may have to be an online purchase from auction sites or online party stores.

Chairs can be draped with tulle or fabric and embellished with a bow in the back. If you have a table just for the princess and her court, you can just decorate the chairs for them.

Decorate the cake table with Princess themed napkins, plates and party favors. Be all the little girls have tiaras or princess hats and the little boys have crowns or swords. You can also have the party goers dress in royal attire to add flair to such a special occasion.

Dress up the walls with princess pictures and posters can add that special touch. A great idea is to print princess pictures, place in frames and hang on a wall to represent all the princesses that came before yours. You can purchase inexpensive frames in discount stores, dollar stores and superstores. Find nice princess pictures by searching online.

Include your princess in the decision making; She knows what she likes. Last but not least, don’t be afraid to be bold and help make your Princess feel special on her birthday, after all she is royalty.

When we drink water, we are keeping our five vital organs hydrated and ready for action: the brain, heart, lungs liver and kidneys. As a result, these organs will work properly and the other organs can work properly as well and we can lead a healthier life.

When we don’t drink enough water, our body suffers. Many health problems can be reduced simply by drinking good water. If your joints hurt and have arthritis, it might be that all you need to do is drink more water. You see, the cartilage in your joints is made of 80% water and it might just be that they aren’t hydrated enough. If you have high blood pressure, maybe your body is sending you a signal that you need more water because your blood vessels are being constricted. Dr. Colbert says that many of his patients have lowered their blood pressure simply by drinking enough water. So you have digestive problems? Water keeps the digestive juices supplied and helps your body create all the acid it needs to kill the H. Plyori bacteria that causes ulcers, and improves digestion. So, maybe all you need to do to make your digestive system run smoother is drink more water.

HOW MUCH water should we have?

Here is a simple formula that Dr. Don Colbert, author of The Seven Pillars of Health, gives us: Just divide your weight in pounds by two. That is how much water you should drink every day. So, if you are 120 pounds, you should have 60 oz of water; if you weigh 200 pounds, you should have 100 oz. However, that doesn’t mean you have to drink it all. When you eat lots of fruits and veggies, you also are supplying your body with fluids since they are made of mostly of water. Depending on how many fruits and vegetables you eat a day, you might be able to add up to a half quart or even a quart of the daily fluid you need.

Is it possible to drink TOO MUCH water?

The answer is “yes”. My brother and sister-in-law told me there was girl on TV that was doing some sort of contest with her friends to see who could drink the most water before having to go to the bathroom. Well, this girl who won the contest lost her life! Can you imagine? So much for more water is better!

The reason for her death was probably that her body was depleted of potassium and electrolyte levels because she had drunk too much water. When we drink excessive amounts of water, we can get a condition called psychogenic polydipsia, which causes potassium and electrolyte levels to become dangerously low. This may lead to your death. We don’t usually drink TOO MUCH water, but I just want to make you aware of the consequences if you do that since some people always think that more is better when MODERATION is always the key.

WHEN should we drink the water?

Well, contrary to normal belief, it should NOT be mostly at meal times. At this time you should only have 4-8 ounces and make sure it is room temperature. Any drink that is extremely cold or has ice in it makes it harder for your body to digest your food.

Dr. Colbert suggests in his book “The Seven Pillars of Health” that we should drink most our fluids two hours after meals and up to 30 minutes before meals. You don’t have to get all your fluids from water either. Like I said earlier, eating lots of fruits and veggies can count to up to one quart of fluid, so that means if you need to 4 quarts of fluid a day, you can make it only 3 quarts of just plain water or tea, or other drinks that are not highly sugared or have filled with caffeine. Coffee counts, as long as you don’t have more than 2 cups a day.

Is all water equal?

No, it is not. There is better water than others. It used to be that here in the U.S. we could drink tap water and it was good for us. Unfortunately, that is not the case anymore. There are many contaminants in it that municipal treatments can neither detect nor remove from the water supply, even though the EPA does check the water daily.

Not only are there chemicals and microbes in tap water, but, unfortunately that things they put in it to help “purify” the water is dangerous to us. Some cities put in chlorine to kill microorganisms; however, chlorinated water has been linked to birth defects and spina bifida. Chlorinated water can also destroy nutrients that our body needs: vitamins A, B, C and E, and fatty acids. This water also causes chronic skin diseases like acne, psoriasis and eczema. When you take a shower in chlorinated water, it causes your hair to be brittle and your skin to dry out.

Another thing is added to tap water is fluoride, even though fluoride is proven toxic. Dr. Charles Gordon, past president of the American Medical Association, says “fluoride is a corrosive poison that will produce serious effects on a long range basis.”

One more element that I want to talk about that is added to the water is aluminum. Aluminum is linked to Alzheimer’s disease.

In order to remove chemicals from tap water, it is important to purchase a good filtration system that will do that. Tap water is good to water your lawn and flush the toilet, but it is not good to drink it. The best water filters are alkaline water filters. Your body thrives on an alkaline environment since it is able to detoxify a lot more efficiently than in an acidic environment.

Certain bottled waters are also alkaline, but not all of them are. Make sure that when you drink bottled water you buy one that is alkaline like Evamor, Abita and Arrowhead. Dr. Colbert says that the best bottled water is called Penta Water and you can get in a health store near you.

So, keep the water coming, but don’t drink too much! Use the simple formula to calculate how much you should have and aim towards that amount. Make sure you eat lots of fruits and veggies too - those count towards your daily “water” intake =)

Live healthy! Drink water instead of soda, diet soda, juice and milk. It’s the best thing to quench your thirst =) But make sure you drink most of your water between meals, not at meal times.

The Turbo Grafx-16 vintage video game system was released to a lot of fanfare, but soon faced a lot of competition from companies such as Nintendo and Sega who were able to produce much more complex video games. This system was marketed as the first 16-bit system, and had a great start in the market in the United States. The system was first released in 1989.

The Turbo Grafx-16 eventually became the first console to offer video games on CD, but was unable to beat out its competitors. Gamers eventually chose to stick with the largest video game consoles. The problem was that the video games offered by NEC were simply not up to par. Nintendo and other major video game consoles offered more bang for their buck. Gamers loved the infinite possibilities and incredible gameplay offered by Nintendo. NEC had very few games, and was unable to create interesting games that attracted hard-core video game players, although the system was well known for having some great top-down shooters.

NEC couldn’t turn to other developers since they already had contracts with Nintendo and other major video consoles. It seemed that NEC was doomed to fail in this increasingly competitive world of gaming. It was one of the first video game consoles to fall victim to the changes in trends that affect other industries such as automobiles and fashion.

It was the Sega Genesis that put the death nail in the Turbo 16 video game system. Every serious gamer who was around at that time can remember the first time they played the Sega Genesis. This console had incredible games as well. Sports, action, adventure, and strategy games offered incredible gameplay and intricate scenarios. There was no chance for the TurboGrafx-16.

Less than 1 million video game consoles from TurboGrafx-16 were sold, and vintage consoles are available to collectors on many auction sites around the internet. Today, Nintendo and Sony rule the video game world, with new competition from Microsoft. There will almost certainly be new victims in this difficult market that changes tastes every day.
